Two Sky is a small shop based in Colorado that sells work by independent artists in Japan. We sell and ship to customers in the United States only. This page explains what information we collect when you visit twosky.us or buy something, what we do with it, and who else sees it. If anything here is unclear, email us at hello@twosky.us.
What we collect
When you place an order: your name, shipping and billing address, email, phone number, and what you bought. Your card is handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
When you sign up for emails: your email address.
When you email us or leave a comment: whatever you send us, plus your name and email.
When you browse the site: basic technical information like your browser, device, the pages you looked at, and roughly where you are (country or region, not your exact location). Some of this is collected through cookies, which are small files stored in your browser. Your cart uses cookies so it remembers what you added.
How we use it
- To get your order to you, including shipping, customs, and tracking
- To answer your questions and sort out problems with an order
- To send you emails about new work, if you signed up
- To understand which pages people visit so we can make the site better
- To keep records we need for taxes and accounting
We don’t sell your information for money. Our advertising tools from Google, Pinterest, and TikTok do receive information about your visit, which some state laws treat as “sharing.” If you’d like to opt out, email us or block third-party cookies in your browser.
Who else sees it
The artist who made your piece. Your order ships directly from the artist’s studio in Japan. That means we send them your name, shipping address, and phone number so they can pack and label it. They only get the details for orders of their own work, and only to ship them.
Shipping and customs services. Your address and order details go to the services that calculate shipping, prepay import duties, and deliver your package. These include Zonos (duties and customs), Japan Post, and the US carrier that handles the final delivery.
Services that run the store. The site runs on WordPress.com and WooCommerce. Payments go through WooPayments (powered by Stripe). Our email list is run by MailerLite. Spam filtering for comments and forms is done by Akismet.
Analytics and advertising. We use Jetpack Stats to see how many people visit and which pages they look at. We also use tools from Google, Pinterest, and TikTok that let us show our products on those platforms and see whether those ads lead to sales. These tools may set cookies and collect information about your visit, and each company handles that information under its own privacy policy.
Our site doesn’t respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, and our advertising partners may collect information about your activity across different websites over time.
When the law requires it. We’ll share information if we’re legally required to, for example with tax authorities.
If Two Sky is sold. If Two Sky is sold or merged with another business, customer information may be transferred to the new owner, who will have to follow this policy.
Your information outside the US
Because our artists are in Japan, your shipping details travel to Japan. Some of the services above may also store data in other countries. By placing an order, you understand your details will be sent to Japan so the artist can ship it to you.
How long we keep it
We keep order records as long as we need them for taxes and accounting, usually about seven years. Your email stays on our list until you unsubscribe. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom.
Your choices
- See, correct, or delete your information: email hello@twosky.us and we’ll take care of it. We may need to keep some order records for tax purposes.
- Stop emails: click unsubscribe in any email, or ask us.
- Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking third-party cookies stops most ad tracking. Blocking all cookies will stop the cart and checkout from working.
Security
The site uses HTTPS, and card details are handled by our payment processor, not stored by us. No system is perfectly secure, but we only keep what we need and only share it with the people above.
Kids
Two Sky isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us their details, email us and we’ll delete them.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
