A design label that can’t be put in a category, like a toy box. Each product takes a single problem or theme and approaches it from different angles and with different methods. Multi disciplinary design.
ABOUT MIEMARU
Two people in Kanazawa, doing everything themselves.
Miemaru Studio is Wing and Uddy, a two-person team in Kanazawa doing everything themselves. Wing leans toward production, Uddy toward design.
They started as a music label, and they still are one. The idea was to support musicians through art: designing record jackets, making merch, and eventually making clothes. The bags and clothing grew out of that work, and they’re still working with the artists on the label.

Miemaru Studioは、WingとUddyの二人組。金沢を拠点に、すべてを自分たちで手がけています。Wingは主に制作、Uddyは主にデザインを担当しています。
もともとは音楽レーベルとしてスタートし、今もレーベルとして活動しています。アートを通してミュージシャンを支えることが目的で、ジャケットのデザインやグッズ制作から始まり、やがて服づくりへと広がっていきました。バッグや服はその流れから生まれたもので、今もレーベルのアーティストたちと一緒に活動を続けています。
周りにいるのは、東京の影響も少し受けた金沢の音楽シーンの人たちです。ハードウェアでビートを作る人、シルクスクリーンが好きな人、ただ好きだからという理由でものづくりの時間をつくる人。それぞれ少しずつやり方が違う、小さな規模のつくり手たちです。
そのすべてに通じているのは手づくりのもの、なかでも手でしか作れないものです。

THEIR CIRCLE
Their circle is Kanazawa’s music scene, with some Tokyo influence: people making beats on hardware, people who love silkscreen, people who make time to make things just because they like them. Small-scale makers, each doing it a little differently.
What runs through all of it is handmade work, and especially the things that can only be made by hand.
